FOREVER
FAMILY DAY!
Jing
Yan is officially a Markmiller!!! Lauren Grace Jing Yan
Markmiller to be exact. Known to us, right now as Jing Yan. We
had a really great day today. Lauren woke up this morning and
looked around and spotted me in the other bed and smiled. What a
huge blessing! Then she pooped! Another huge blessing. Hey, just
keeping it real friends. I know when she is 16 she will slam the
door and yell how I ruined her life for writing that. :)
Today, Michael, Lauren and I went off with our guide Shirley to
do all the official paperwork. So as of this morning, our
adoption is final! A done deal. And we couldn't be happier.
Jack, Sam and Katie Mei stayed with Lindsay and hung out at the
Hotel for the morning. This afternoon, Michael and I took the
kids on a walk throught ZhengZhou to try and find a park. Um.
Yep. Not so much. But we had a great time and found a great
bakery on the walk.
We are all missing home- especially the food....so Sammy and I
ventured out to Pizza Hut to bring some back to the hotel. How I
treasure the times I get one on one with my kids. We had such a
great time watching the city come to life after dark together.
We want to go again tomorrow! Maybe we will let the others come.
Maybe. ;)
Lauren amazes us more and more. She had a 45 minute cry this
afternoon while we were trying to rest. When she grieves, she
doesn't like anyone to touch her. Michael and I just laid with
her while she cried. When she stopped, I opened my arms to her
and she came to me. This momma's heart soared.
She always makes sure she knows where each one of us is. She
ADORES her Jie Jie (Big sister, Katie Mei of course) and her Ge
Ge's (Jack and Sam). If one of them is out of sight, she calls
for them, and when they come back, they are welcomed with a HUGE
smile, giggle and a yell of delight. Nothing else like that in
the world. She can do so much that I am amazed by. Her hands are
not perfect in the eyes of the world, but they are more amazing
then any 10 fingers I have ever seen.
She took a shower with Katie today and she had a great time. And
she put on some new clothes. She kept going to the mirror to
look at herself in them especially her shoes.
Truly she is a delight. We are so blessed. Keep praying friends!
God is good all the time.
From Sammy:
Ni Hao! (That means Hello)- I LOVE MY SISTER LAUREN! She is
so cute and funny. She laughs A LOT! She love to play with me.
We had a hard morning when we first got her, but now she is
doing great. She is so funny. Mom and I walked to a Pizza Hut
tonight to bring back pizza. I am really tired of Chinese food.
We saw people selling all kinds of food on the street. Some of
it looked yummy. But I wanted pizza. Tomorrow we will probably
go to the zoo! Talk to you later.
From Katie:
Hi!! I love my little sister Lauren. She is So cute. She can
wink with both eyes. And she likes to laugh. I love to play with
her. She was sad yesterday, that made me really sad. But she is
doing better now. I love dumplings here. So yummy!!! Well, I
will talk to you tomorrow!!!
