Last night, we had to take Ella to the doctor because
she has been sick. She has bronchitis and an ear infection. Ella
is on 6 different medications. Hopefully, the medicine works
because she is so congestion-she sounds like a 90 year old
smoker. Today we had a lot of free time. We went to the Passport
Registration Office to register for Ella’s passport which took
about one hour. Not much to comment on so I decide to post a few
things about Ella that we know so far:
Life with us
-The girl can chow down on the food…doesn’t matter what it is,
she will eat it.
-She is a comedian…she will do anything to get a laugh out of us
and she is usually successful being the biased parents that we
are.
-She gets in the bath and immediately starts to scrub herself
down-hair and all. I am sure that in the orphanage the rule was
that each child had to hurry and wash themselves.
-She loves hair bows-she wants us to always be brushing her hair
and putting in clips.
-She stalls at bedtime/naptime-pulling the “I’m Thirsty” stall
tactic. Sound familiar Hunter?
-She loves her light up tennis shoes-she goes around stomping
her feet to watch her shoe light up and then belly laughs about
how funny it is.
-She wants to try on all her clothes over and over again.
-She loves to hold Bart and I’s hand when we go walking.
-She looks sad sometimes when she is lying in bed getting ready
to go to sleep-I wonder what memories she is thinking about.
-She is starting to call us “momma” and “poppa”
-She hates to brush her teeth.
Life in the Orphanage
-She spent three months in the hospital after her surgery.
-All of her friends have/or are being adopted.
-She lived in a room about 20 x 20 with 10 other children, both
special needs and non special needs,
-She rarely got to go outside…just lived day after day in that
small room with her friends and caregivers. |
