Trip to China

Sunday, November 4, 2007 We made it after a whopping 24 hours of travel from start to finish-15 1/2 hours on our flight from Los Angeles to Guangzhou alone. We ended up sitting by a guy from Salt Lake City, UT-out of a plane full of Mandarin speaking Chinese people-we got the seat next to an American. We had great conversation with him-His father is over the admissions process at BYU-hummm, wonder how that could come in handy in the next few months. We were picked up at the airport by our guide, Jocelyn, who is so awesome. We are in a group of 7 families. Guangzhou is beautiful and our hotel is so nice. Everywhere you walk in the hotel there are American couples with Chinese children. We haven't had a chance to explore to much, but we will get to that in the next two weeks. We ate at a great Japanese restaurant today-Bart and his sushi habits. Tomorrow, we get Ella at 4:00 in the afternoon. Wish us luck.
