Everyone’s thoughts and prayer worked.. we made it!!! Wow! What
an amazing two days! We left Dulles at 12:25 pm on Wednesday,
and landed in Beijing around 2:10pm on Thursday. The flight was
super smooth and we met a really nice man named Charlie as well.
Our guide, Linda met us at the airport as soon as we walked out
from getting our luggage. She was holding a sign with Tony’s
name on it. We had great plans of going to get dinner, however,
we both went to sleep immediately!
Our hotel (Marriott :Beijing City Wall) is amazing and much
fancier than any hotel we have ever stayed at in the states! We
got up very early (4:30 am) this morning and did face time with
several friends which was totally awesome!! Around 7:30 am we
went upstairs for breakfast. Oh my goodness was it good. I had
dragon fruit for the first time and Tony loved the other fruit.
Afterwards, we met our guide, Shirley, who is very, very nice.
We headed to the Forbidden City and learned so many wonderful
historical facts about the Emperor and about Beijing in general!
Next, we went to a Tea House. It was super nice. We purchased
several different really nice teas and cannot wait to share them
with friends at home. We cannot wait for you to see the
“pee-pee” boy who helps you decide when the water is hot enough
to make tea. Incredibly funny and functional. Next, we went to
the Beijing Zoo and saw the beautiful Pandas. Truly nothing like
seeing a Panda in China!
Finally, we went to the Beijing Chaoyang Theater Acrobatics
World show. We have never before seen anything like this show. I
don’t really know words to describe it except amazing talent! We
then learned that DC has nothing on Beijing when it comes to
traffic. I wish I had a driver like Mr. Lee to drive me around
in DC! He did an incredible job. We are now back at the hotel
and about to go eat dinner downstairs and then come back and
dream of Monday when we get our little boy! |
