Today is definitely a day of adjusting. Even though we all slept
ok, as the day wears on, the jet lag is setting in. Breakfast in
our awesome hotel was culture shock for both Lauren and Ethan!
Let’s see…the waffles and syrup didn’t taste like home, no pop
served at breakfast time, the milk was unpasturized, so cereal
had to be eaten sans milk! The kids didn’t eat much because they
didn’t like it…Neither of them were happy with me when I told
them this is the ‘American’ food for the next 14 days! Sharon
and I both tried Chinese breakfast food and thought it was
awesome.
Next, we ventured out to the very nice Pedestrian Mall. We
bought some cool things, seen some beautiful people. We found a
small convenient store across from our hotel and bought Coke
Zero and Pringles. We took them back to our hotel and Ethan and
Lauren inhaled the entire can of Pringles and drank pop as we
played a game of Uno…Ethan won.
I haven’t found Diet Coke yet, so Coke Zero is as close as it
gets for me. It tastes pretty good…almost like Sprite mixed with
Coke. It has caffeine, that’s all that matters :)
We ate dinner at Pizza Hut. Their pan crust cheese-lovers was
the best! Plus, we had an long awaited glass of wine: A really
nice French Cab :)
I decided at dinner that it was time I found the public
restrooms and give it a try! So, Sharon, Lauren and I found it,
entered, and only Sharon and I used it. There is still plenty of
time for Lauren’s turn :)
I bought a couple of traditional dresses tonight. I got dresses
for Caiya and Addie…same dress, different color. We will be
hunting for outfits for Sara and Katie, too…so all the girls
will have them.
In less than 24 hours, we will have our precious Caiya! I cannot
tell you how excited we are! So, our next post will be Gotcha
Day with pics of the newest Holke!

Hi guys at school. Today we went shopping and everybody was so
nice. At Tokyo a man said to my grandma ‘You have big son’ about
Jeremy. It is so different here… I can barely read anything it
is all in Chinese. I hear it is getting warmer there. It is so
humid here there is fog everywhere. I love our rooms they are so
big. Girls, Stacy loves your cards. She thanks you! There is
like a 5 block long pets market here. There are bunnies, dogs,
cats, fish, turtles, even mice and rats. I miss you all. Mrs.
Wiedenhoft, thank you for letting me go on this wonderful
opportunity. We got here safe and sound. Happy Valentines Day!!! |
