Linda at LifeLink sent an email titled, “CALL ME!!! The body of message said I need to speak with you asap. Call my cell…” sometime late morning. I also saw that Jeremy left me a voicemail that said something like, ‘Linda emailed us and I hope you’re talking with her.” Well, I was not because I was teaching a class. The email was about 25 minutes old by the time I saw all of this. I feverishly started dialing Linda’s cell and got her voicemail. I hung up and dialed Jerm’s work number – got voicemail. Then, I dialed his cell number – yes, I got the voicemail there too. So, I called Linda back, left her a voicemail that said, “It’s Stacy. I hope you’re talking to Jeremy because I can’t get a hold of either of you!” Then, I called Jerm, and left a similar voicemail. A few seconds later, an email popped up that said, “On the phone with Linda…will call you…” Then, another email came from him, titled, “We got a referral!!!!!!”

So we waited five minutes to get her photos and paperwork. It seemed like an eternity, too! The rest of the day was spent TRYING to work and also letting it all sink in that God was truly working in our lives and heard our prayers.

It’s been nine months since we received Mei Lin’s referral, and six months since her passing. The past month or so, we have been talking, praying, about what the future holds for us, in terms of growing our family. Should we change countries from which we adopt? Continue to hang in there? Start trying to conceive again? Ethan is now six and wants a sibling so badly.

The night before we received the information on Caiya, Jeremy and I confirmed a plan to wait until Thanksgiving to see if we get a referral. If no referral by then, then we would start down a new path….then, her referral came the very next day! What a true testament to the power of God!!!

We are overjoyed with this great news. And ask for your prayers as we complete the final steps to bringing Caiya home to her forever family! Thank you for all of support you have given us the past two years in this journey. We are blessed to have all of you in our lives!
