It didn’t take Leah as long in the morning to warm up, so that’s
progress! We started the day with breakfast, and then set off to
the Ta’er Monastery. It was really great again to see some more
of what’s here. I find myself often looking at the people we see
and wondering if they are related to Leah at all. Or have we
passed her mother somewhere along the way. One family that we
“talked” to was so happy that we had adopted a little girl from
their area, that they kept saying thank you, thank you. The
people here are so friendly and their culture is so fascinating
to me. Today was Kyra’s turn to be the center of attention. From
the time we got to the monastery, people were taking her
picture, getting in pictures with her, having big groups get in
pictures with her. It has happened so much now, that I’m totally
used to it, and it doesn’t make me uneasy at all anymore. And I
think that the girls, especially Kyra, think it’s pretty cool
that they are so popular! After the monastery, we just came back
to the hotel for a quick lunch and nap. Leah was a little more
relaxed, and didn’t seem as “stiff” when going to bed. She was
also being a bit playful with Ryann, which was keeping her from
falling right to sleep. But when she stopped, she was out in no
time again.
We played some more after nap, and then headed out to dinner. We
had told our guide that we wanted to eat out, so he took us to a
place, ordered for us, and then we were on our own! It was
honestly so much fun… people staring and waving… no idea what
was in the huge crock of soup… laughing the whole time. After
that it was just bedtime.
Tomorrow we get to see Leah’s finding place! I think there’s a
good chance I’ll cry over that one. What’s really ironic is that
we just found out that we can see it from our hotel! We’re on
the 19th floor, and if we look out the window down the hall,
there it is.
Some things we’re learning about Leah:
*Her favorite word is no
*Her second favorite word is mine
But she’s the cutest all the same! |
