"Faith is about
trusting God when you have unanswered questions." - Joel Osteen
This morning was a
very early morning, because we had an 8:30 am Consulate
appointment. No one wanted to wake up when the alarms went off,
and we actually had to wake Juliette up in order to leave!
Surprisingly, since it's the end of the trip and we're running
out of clothes, Ryan and daddy came out of the room dressed
identically today! They were wearing the same J. Crew chino
shorts and each in a Vineyard Vines tee. We do not have any
pictures from the Consulate however, because cameras and other
electronics were not allowed. We were there with quite a few
other American families, some of whom will be on our flight
home! We had to meet our guide by 7:30 in order to be on time,
so we couldn't open Starbucks this morning. We did however go
there first when we got back from the Consulate.
The rest of the day, we spent picking up a few last minute
things and packing. Juliette was very fussy because she has a
bad cough, so we did not get much accomplished today. We had our
last dinner at Lucy's (yippee!) where mommy and Shannon ordered
their 9th grilled cheese and the men had spaghetti once again.
Caroline ate her basket of fries like a little trooper and drank
her whole soda too! Juliette allowed mommy to sit again, and
enjoyed her congee and grilled cheese pieces. It rained for a
little while this afternoon, luckily while we were in the rooms,
so we waited for it to stop before venturing out to dinner. It
was much quieter here today, as the holiday is over and everyone
is back to work. We are mostly packed, and everyone here is all
too glad that this is our last night in Guangzhou. Even Caroline
is ready to go! Daddy brought her back an ice cream from
7-Eleven after dinner, and a little while later when mommy asked
her where it was, she informed her that it was packed in the
pocket of her backpack to save for later! (The ice cream was
removed and Caroline ate it for dessert then).
Tomorrow, we can sleep in and pack up. Checkout is at 2:00 pm,
and by 3:15 we will be heading out on our way to the Guangzhou
train station. Within 24 hours we will be at the hotel in Hong
Kong and soon to be on our plane home!
Goodnight from Guangzhou (for the last time)! |

Does anyone else think Ryan
has been in China too long?

Happy little smiles and giggles are becoming more frequent as
the week goes on
