We got up early today to get to Starbucks before our 9am Civil
Affairs appointment. We were stuck at Civil Affairs for almost
two and a half hours waiting for the Notary who was extremely
late. During this time, Juliette leaked through her clothes,
through daddy's clothes, and onto the passports and room key! Oh
well!
We met a lady and her daughter from North Carolina
adopting a 20 month-old little girl, and found out they are on
the same schedule we are, as are the two couples from Sweden!
Therefore, we will all see each other at our appointments and
depart Guangzhou on the same day. We asked our driver to drop us
at the supermarket on the way back so we would not have to walk
in the relentless heat, and climb hundreds of stairs over a huge
highway. Caroline got Haagan Das ice cream, and we got some
supplies in the new supermarket. When we got to the check out,
the woman ringing us up could not find a price for the flowered
tooth brush holders mommy wanted because they were aqua! We
walked back to our hotel to wash up and Juliette had a nap. When
she woke up we took Caroline to the park next to Lucy's for a
few minutes, it was very disappointing. We finished the day with
dinner at Lucy's, with some much needed french fries and
Juliette screaming. We are beginning to think that Juliette is
quite sad. She cries a lot, does not want to be put down, and
has not smiled really in the past two days. It is very
difficult, because we simply do not know what to do to console
her. We are crossing our fingers this improves.
Bed time is
looking pretty good right about now! Tomorrow we are able to
sleep in a little for the first time, then it's off to the
police station in the afternoon for some more paperwork and
such.
Goodnight from Guangzhou! |

Early Tuesday Morning before breakfast.
Our Juliette seems sad.

The building on the left is a school.

So much worry for such a little person
