Jie Jie

To all of our daughters:
“May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here.”  -Ronald Reagan

Ashton and Kieron

Ashton and Kieron are our twin girls and are going to be Reagan’s big sisters! They are 7 years old and are in the first grade at Towering Oaks Christian School. They are very smart and have made nothing but “A’s” on their report cards. They both like to play soccer and sing, and they do gymnastics and dance at Lesa’s School of Dance. We have been so blessed by these two beautiful girls. God is so good!

Ashton
Ashton loves animals and bugs and loves to read. She reads anything she can get her hands on! She lives in a dream world and loves to create things. To Ashton, anything is possible, all you have to do is to dream it! She is very giving and compassionate! She loves to laugh and to be a prissy girl. She has lots of friends. The boys at school love her; she has lots of “boyfriends.” We told her she cannot date until she is 30!

Kieron
Kieron loves sports, science, and math. She analyzes everything! She loves to do puzzles and anything she can solve logically! She is very practical and approaches things from a realistic point of view. She likes to know how things work and likes to try to figure it out. She doesn’t take things at face value; it has to be proven to her. She is very hard working! She is a born leader, and the girls at school love to be around her. I think she scares the boys! HA!

Blessings
We must tell you all about what Ashton and Kieron did. They were able to choose something from the Birthday box at school on their birthday. Kieron picked a pretty bracelet, and her teacher, Mrs. Pruett, told her that she was going to look beautiful in it. Kieron told her that it wasn't for her; she had gotten it for one of the girls in the orphanage in China. We also had been searching for a Christmas outfit that weekend. Kieron told me that she didn't want one because we could use that money to buy more things for the kids in the orphanage in China, so that is what we did! We used that money that we were going to get the outfits with to get more items. They also got several gift cards to Claire's for their birthday; and you guessed it, they wanted to use them to get things for the children still waiting on their forever homes in China, $80 worth! I must say that they taught us a lot, and we cried plenty tears of happiness! We are so blessed, beyond measure, by our beautiful, giving girls!

Ashton’s letter to her Mei Mei…

Dear Reagan,

I have wanted and prayed for a baby sister for a long time, and now I have you. I know you are going to be a sweet, loving sister. When you get home, I will do lots of stuff with you. I will teach you how to play lots of games. Whenever you cry, I will be there for you. If you are afraid, you can call for me. And just remember that God will be with you, and we will be there for you too. You will never be alone again. We will be together soon, and I can’t wait! I am so happy that God made you! I know we will always be together. You, me, and Kieron will be best sisters. I love you very much!

Love,

Your Jie Jie, Ashton

P.S. Stay away from boys because they will fight over you.
Kieron’s letter to her Mei Mei…

Dear Reagan,

I cannot wait until you come home. If you need me, you can sleep in my bed. I am going to teach you lots of things. One of the things I am going to teach you is how to ride a bicycle. Also, boys will try to marry you, so stay away from them. You will love your new bedroom. It has all ladybugs everywhere. I hope you know that I love you very much. I pray for you every single morning and night. I love you very much!

Love,

Your Jie Jie, Kieron

“This is our story. You know what we learned? A family is special and each one is different.
And some sisters and brothers may not look like their fathers and mothers.
But that doesn’t matter, what does matter is this:
FAMILIES ARE FOREVER. IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT!”
-adapted excerpt from Families are Forever by Deb Capone and Craig Sherman

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.  Psalm 127:3
