First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! We
have not had turkey today but burgers and they were good!
We have had a relaxing and fun time seeing the sights of
Shanghai. Yesterday we went up the tallest tower in the city
(435m) and had afternoon tea at the very posh Peninsula Hotel.
Margaret is feeling the effects of jet lag and was in bed by 7
and wide awake at 2:30 a.m. Tonight she has no choice but to
stay up for our midnight bike ride! Today we met up with a
friend from Ascension (Ben Goldsmith) who is working out here
and Alyce and John will be pleased to know he is doing well and
knows how to flatter the waitresses in Chinese! Taxi rides are
hair raising experiences so Jacqui and I very kindly make sure
that Mike goes in the front. He is rather green when we arrive
at our destination! Tomorrow we intend to visit a Muslim market
and then in the afternoon, get ready for the next stage of our
journey – the journey to Grace’s province of Shanxi. We will
post something when we get there. Thanks for following our
journey and love to you all!
