TB RESULTS AND SHOP

Our peanut woke up all smiles this morning and really liked her Mommy. We headed out for breakfast and once again we all filled our tummies. We met up at 10 something to walk over and have the TB test read and it was much crazier in their today then it was Saturday. I guess on Monday the locals bring their family in who are sick…luckily we were in and out in about 15 minutes with no positive tests. We walked back by the park and let Emma try the slide she was very hesitant at first and then was a daredevil wanting to slide on her tummy or even dive off the slide. There was a group of children from the local school having gym class, they were dressed in purple and white uniforms and were getting timed on their running. They were just as curious about us as we were them. We then began our walk down to Sherry’s Place to get Emma a new pair of shoes…because on Sunday she dropped the shoes she had mostly been wearing that I brought in the toilet.

On the way we saw a cute little statue of children and she lined up for a quick photo with them. Several local brides were out having their wedding photos taken. We arrive at Sherry’s and Emma wants no part of any sandal I pick out and literally throws them..she finally finds a really cute pair of shoes and begins to put them on herself…several pairs later I send Mel on his way to put her down for a nap and I continue to shop for us and for a friend. When I got back to the hotel Emma had demanded Daddy make her noodles and they were happy campers curled up for nap time. I got them settled and headed back out for more shopping.

You really can’t imagine the shopping experience here; some of the shop owners hang out of their shops so they can spot you and encourage you to come in. Today this little guy on the street says “hello big Momma, where is your baby”, then realizing that might not be the best thing to say in order to get me to come on he smiles and says “I’m sorry”. So I decide to tease him a bit and say “I’m not big Momma, I am little Momma who is tall” and of course he says “yeah, yeah, yeah”. Then I ask him his name, “Jack” so I say “big Jack or little Jack” and he says “little Jack” and then I say oh no “little, little Jack”. We laugh and I go on my way. I picked up the pig necklaces for the girls and bought a few more squeaky shoes. Then I head over to Jordan’s to pick up a few things and found Chinese flags for Chinese New Year next year…I bought a bunch.

We met back up at 5:30 and headed over to the dock by taxi for our boat cruise…our Papa Johns pizza arrived just before our boat was to leave and it was a huge hit for Emma she again ate her weight in pizza. The boat cruise was amazing, we had a little drama beforehand our guide I will call her “J” said you go on cruise alone and take taxi back to hotel after show room key….well that did not set with me well so we paid for her ticket and she came too…I did not like the idea of getting a taxi late at night with no guide…she came with us. The cruise was very nice and the view at night breathtaking. An end to a very nice day.

About Emma we do believe she has either never heard or never accepted the word no and let me tell you the fits she throws upon hearing no are not pretty. I can just see the looks I get when we get home, she sounds like you are removing an arm….let me tell you here it doesn’t get a second glance as most of the children are doing the same thing when they hear no. She is all in all a sweet and spicy girl but this “no” behavior we will have to work on. Also she has a habit of just throwing her noodle bowl..no warning and you might have noodles in your hair; up your nose you name it. She then sheepishly smiles after this acting out….at first I thought she seemed younger but now I can see she has been very independent and has not been corrected or at least did not accept correction. We have a bit to work on and oh how can I forget the scratching…part cat any child that I show interest in she will either back hand or scratch…we may have to put her in mitts. We will watch Ellie Lu closely as she is seeming to be fiercely jealous of children or adults I show attention to. So now that she has connected with me…she tries to run the show, if Daddy says no she comes to me with tears or vice versa…soon she will know that we are in charge not her…ha! Tomorrow we are off to the Safari park…early day!
