Today was the medical exam day and the "paper work" day! We met
our group at 9 am and went to get visa pictures and then to the
clinic. All the kids were well behaved and evidently healthy
enough to pass the medical exam with flying colors. Cole
measured in at 28 pounds and almost 34 inches tall! There are
actually no pictures of the medical exam because my photographer
was taking a very well earned break. After the medical exam, we
went to the park and played until lunch/nap time. Again, no pics
of the park because my photographer was out taking pictures of
the local area. Cole had a blast running around and trying all
the different pieces of equipment that the Chinese use to stay
in shape.
We met our group at 3 in the White Swan play room to complete
all of our Consulate paperwork. It was great to see Cole
enjoying himself. He was a bit shy at first with the other
children in out group, but when Garrett, a little boy about his
age, tried to take his play mower away from him, he made it
known that he wasn't going to let it go without a fight. Thank
goodness Stef was there because I had some additional paperwork
to finish since I am traveling without my husband. Rebecca, our
guide, and I were working long after the other families were
done.
After we finished, we had just enough time to drop our
things in the room and freshen up for dinner at Cow and Bridge
with our group. One of the moms in our group had a birthday
(Happy Birthday Lucy!) so we sang and ate cake before dinner.
The dinner was so much fun as our group is comprised of a
fantastic bunch of families.
After dinner, we stopped off to
pick up our laundry and by the time we got back to the room,
were all wiped out. I managed to give Cole a bath and by that
time Stef was already asleep... Cole and I weren't far behind.
An early bedtime was a great way to end a busy, but wonderful,
day. |
