We’re just having an ordinary day while Richard handled some
paperwork processing at the US Consulate. Breakfast, exchange
money, pick-up laundry, swimming, massages and an evening walk
along the Pearl River boardwalk after dinner.
We are really making some breakthroughs with Ava in
communication by simple sign language and facial expressions.
Although the open palate in her mouth prevents much vocalization
(which is Chinese anyway) she’s a quick learner and creative
communicator. She has no problem expressing her desires or
needs.
We also want to thank all of you – friends and family alike who
sign the guest book and send us emails. We really enjoy hearing
from home and we are ready to be home ourselves.
Ava continues to surprise us as she reveals new layers of
personality. She is truly a character! Without her we would be
bored as the waiting drags on. She is a one-girl variety show.
She laughs from the bottom of her belly, she cries from the top
of her lungs. She loves to dance along with anything that
remotely sounds like music. She smiles pouts, points and
gestures with such gusto and she waves and blows kisses to
people on the street as we pass by. Enjoy the pictures.
Goodnight from Guangzhou.
Lex and Jack. It was nice talking to you tonight on Skype. We
really miss you both so much. We’re very proud of you for being
good boys and looking after grandma. JUST 3 sleeps and we’ll all
be home together with Ava at last.
