SHAMIAN ISLAND
AND
OUTDOOR MEDICINE MARKET
Today we went exploring. It was a fun long day. We took the
subway again and feel really confident with it now. We took it
to Shamian Island again but instead of
going straight to the island we explored the outdoor markets.
First walking through the medicine market, then pet, then
shopping. We ate at a restaurant that we ate at last
time with the Barton family. It was good food for a cheap price.
Then we headed to the island. Grandma Susan and I decided to get
a foot message. I got this before on the last adoption
trip. We got it the day we met Zoe. We got an 1 1/2 hour neck,
back, arm, leg and foot message for the equivalent of $20
American dollars. We didn't like the last part where we had to
put our feet over this box that had burning incense inside. The
box got really hot and our feet were burning by the time they
came back in.
Afterwards we did a little bit of shopping on the island. Conor
and Parker were great about bartering and got some good deals.
We bought some last minute things for Hope. We ate dinner at
Subway which was nice and easy.
The kids are all ready to come home.
They miss their home and friends. We are also ready to get back.
We have one full day left. Tomorrow we get to visit Zoe's
orphanage. We are hoping her nannies are still there. It will be
a long day but we are excited to do this with her. Thank you all
