OUR STORY

“An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.” Ancient Chinese belief

Gabrielle JinMei’s Family

Many of you followed our journey to China for Grace back in June of 2004. Grace has blessed our family in so many ways! If not, this is our cast of characters:

Mike a.k.a. Daddy or papi as Grace calls him – is a National Account Sales Manager for Spectrum Brands. This means that Mike sells Rayovac hearing aid batteries all over the U.S. and parts of the world, while working with an equally talented team of Sales Professionals. He travels quite a bit and collects the airline miles we use to travel to China. When not hanging out with the family or work, he can be found running on the treadmill or finishing his basement renovation construction. Mike ran his first marathon in 2006 (in Los Angeles) and has a goal to complete 4 more in 3 years.

Allison – a.k.a. Mommy – is a teacher in Wisconsin for Deaf & Hard of Hearing children. She fills her days with great kids and working along side fantastic teachers. She is passionate about being the very best Mommy she can possibly be. Hosting tea parties, reading countless books, playing dress up and sharing time in the kitchen with Grace are included in Allison’s weekly highlights. When not with the family or teaching, Allison is camped out in her craft room building her stamping skills by making greeting cards and creating scrapbooks for the girls to enjoy in years to come.

Grace – a.k.a. Gracie or “jie jie” (big sister) – is getting to be a very big girl at almost three and a half. Taller than some four year olds, Grace is finding her coordination and athletic abilities. She has a great ear for music and a growing imagination. This three year old often surprises everyone with her wit and talents. Grace has been waiting to be a sister since July of 2005. She jumps with delight when we talk about her baby sister. Hardly a day goes by without some mention of her sister, who has been a part of our family for 16 months now. Grace is excited to be Gabby’s “Jie Jie”!

LETTER FROM GRACE

Dear little Gabby,

I can’t wait until we meet.  I have told everyone I know about you.  I know that you like music and so do I.  We can sing, dance and play together.  We can sled and make snow angels or watch movies.  I look forward to being your big sister!!!

Love, Grace
