GREETINGS FROM WUHAN, CHINA!!
We are here! We got up EARLY this morning...about 3:30am local
time. We had a great flight with a great western breakfast from
Air China. We met our guide, Kathy, at the airport with no
problems. She is very nice and took us straight to the
hotel...about an hour and 15 min drive. Our room is super nice!
We love it! Plenty of room! The pictures of Wuhan are not fuzzy
or foggy...that would be the SMOG. It's sort of like a dream
sequence on a TV show. That hazy kind of look. I really don't
know how the locals can breathe between the smog and the smoke.
Everywhere you go, even if no one is smoking directly, there is
always a hint of cigarette smoke. Reminds me of the old days in
the States before the non-smoking laws. There are 10 million
people just in the city of Wuhan! We've never seen so many
people in one city! They are literally on top of each other and
running all over each other.
This is the first time that we have had any "down time" since we
left Alabama on Wednesday. We are enjoying our free afternoon.
Just trying to regroup and get everything ready for tomorrow!
While we were driving to the hotel, Kathy informed us that she
was able to change our meeting date with Annalyn to 9:30am!!! We
were so excited that we would not have to wait all morning to
meet her! So, our new meeting time is 11-01-10 at 9:30am in
China, which is 10-31-10 at 9:30pm (GA time) and 8:30pm (AL
time). Please remember to say a special prayer for us tomorrow
as we meet our new daughter! Kathy had a lot of positive things
to say about her after she had called the orphanage last week.
One thing that we found out is that her foster family has been
teaching her school at home!!!! Hummmmm! We will find out
tomorrow if this is really true. But I have to admit that my
heart did a little flip when she said that. I feel very sad
today for her foster family as they have to say good-bye to her
tomorrow. I really hope that we can keep in touch with them. I
hope you enjoy the pictures. I know that they are not very
exciting, but it felt good to have one day with not so much
excitement...LOL. Looking forward to tomorrow! |

The view from our hotel room in Wuhan!

The sun cannot even shine through the smog very well today.

Mama trying to give Gwendolyn a few pointers on Mrs. Pac Man.
Wow, it's awesome playing it on that big screen TV! |
