How do we thank
you for all of the prayers for healing on behalf of Sienna
Grace? So many have interceded for us, and we are in awe of the
miracles we have witnessed today. Our very sick little girl woke
up with a fever of 101.4 at 6:00. “He touched her and her fever
left…” We were so relieved and grateful for this answered
prayer.
Unfortunately she also woke up with what we would describe as
the flu.
She could not keep anything in her tiny little body. Poor baby
was so sick. She was responsive but so lethargic. In my almost 9
years of being parents we have never had a baby this ill. I will
admit it was frightening.
We reached out to our Hematologist in Minneapolis. His biggest
concern was Sienna getting dehydrated. If she did we knew we
were going to land in the hospital here. So with the help of our
guide we took Sienna to the local clinic. There they just
checked her temperature and confirmed that her TB test was
negative! Answered prayer too. Based on her situation they told
us we should go to the Children’s Hospital in Guangzhou for her
to have her blood tested..
Let’s just say, that when we arrived at the “hospital” Jeff and
I knew that we could not stay. The only way I can describe it is
to imagine a Red Cross triage station set up in the middle of a
National Disaster. It was heartbreaking that this is what people
in China have to endure if they have a sick baby. Hundreds of
people were waiting in an outside open area waiting to be seen.
We were told we would have at least a half a day wait for Sienna
to have a Hemoglobin test. Long story short, we left. There was
no way our baby was going to endure one more trial today. This
is where we had to step out on faith and trust that God is going
to protect Sienna until we can get her home.
Speaking of home, we have requested that Sienna’s Visa be
expedited.
If this is granted we hope to be on a plane Wednesday night
headed towards the Unites States. We will know tomorrow morning
at 9:30A. This is our hearts desire. To get Sienna Grace back to
the United States where she can get quality care.
Later in the afternoon we started to see Sienna’s personality
come back. She had a burst of energy with Ainsley and me back in
the room. It was such a relief to see her silly side for a short
time.
We are now winding down this day that has been full of emotions
and blessings. We pray that Sienna is on the tail end of her
reactions to all the serum in her body so she can go back to
being the precocious toddler we have come to love.
What a witness today has been of God’s faithfulness. We were
reminded by many of you to stand strong, and let God be in
control. And, that worry does not come from God. All truths that
Jeff and I are focusing on.
We know our journey with Sienna is truly just beginning. We look
forward to the day when she runs to us, squeals when we pick her
up and wraps her arms around our legs. For now we are thankful
for the small victories, and a child that is prayerfully on the
mend.
Thank you for standing in the gap!
Blessings,
Diana & Jeff |
