LAST FULL
DAY IN CHANGSHA!
Tonight I have to make this post short! I am exhausted. Not
because things are not going well, just because I have not slept
well. Jeff and I are in new parent mode where we check in on
“Tung Tung” every few hours to make sure she is ok… Last night
she finally slept almost 12 hours, which she desperately needed.
Today was a better day with our Little Empress. She is slowly,
on her terms, letting the walls fall down. Hopefully, before we
leave China we will see some hugs and kisses, and hear some
English words. We know she is more than capable of all of the
above. But, she is going to make us earn it! We are patient! The
wait to bring a child home from China teaches you about that!
On the positive side she is comfortable to find me when she
needs help. She seems to enjoy bath time, having lotion put on,
having her back rubbed to fall asleep, etc. Hands down, she
would choose Ainsley right now for most things. On the flip side
she is aggressive when she wants something, and a bit of a
challenge when she doesn’t want to share, or when she wants to
be in control. But, when we say “No” or “Boo” she seems to
understand. All things that we know can improve with time and
love. Hopefully, Ruby will be patient with her new sister as
they establish their relationship!
One thing that is obvious is that Sienna is a lot of fun! She is
going to be the child that needs to stay busy. I think she will
love school once she gets settled. She is high energy, or “busy
busy busy” as Ruby would say! But she also is meticulous, and
she likes routine. All great qualities!
Our day was very un-eventful. We went to a famous museum in
Changsha this morning. Later we spent time at The Dolton Hotel
with the girls while we had some adoption paperwork to complete.
Sienna loved the play room.
Hopefully, we will be blessed with some decent weather in GZ, so
we can get the girls outside!
I know there is a lot more to say, but I need to go to sleep!!!!
We are off to Guangzhou tomorrow!!!
I will close with, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dad! I hope you like your
B-day gift of Sienna Grace!
Blessings from Changsha,
Diana, Jeff, Ainsley & Sienna
Dear Ruby,
Sorry we didn’t have a chance to Skype today. We hope you had a
great day. Miss Liz is sending us such wonderful pictures and
updates about you.
Thank you for being such a good girl! You are going to be such a
wonderful sister to Sienna. There is so much you will be able to
teach her! We are all off to bed now! Have a fun Thursday! We
LOVE you! ~Mommy, Daddy, and your Sissies! |
