SARAH IS
OFFICIALLY OURS!
Today we went back to the Adoption
Registry and Notary Office and finalized the adoption in the
eyes of the Chinese government.
She is such a brave little trooper. After all the drama of
yesterday she still giggles at bubbles, cracks up when I make
silly faces, and begs her Baba to carry her everywhere.
She likes all of us but she really has taken to Mike. She likes
to keep Baba appraised of every situation. I swear sometimes she
is even tattling on us to Mike. She found Cody’s stash of RMB
money and immediately ran to Mike yelling, “Baba, Baba, Baba!”
and insisted he take the money. Needless to say Cody was less
than thrilled. She finds great comfort being carried around by
Baba. We went to the Notary Office to the 6th floor and she
begged Mike to carry her the whole way. She is SOLID. Not an
easy gal to carry. Mike was a-huffin’ and a-puffin’ by the time
we reached the top.
While Mike is primarily the one to carry her, I am the go-to gal
for bubble blowing and all-around goofiness. The bubble mixture
we have is pretty cheap and I am lucky to get 1 bubble for every
20 tries. But when I do the giggles make it worth while.
Yisha, our guide, is amazing. If she was an American she would
be a hard-core New Yorker. She is ultra-organized and likes to
get things done. Our group went to the Lotus Center. I feel like
a broken record in saying that the place is gigantic. Yisha gave
us an hour and a half to shop. Everyone dispersed and she said,
“I keep my eye on you.” Perhaps we seem the least adept to find
our way around or maybe everyone else left quickly.
We loaded up Sarah in the cart and with Yisha prodding us we
went shopping. When we were in the toy section I had Yisha ask
her what kind of toys she liked. Yisha informed us that she does
NOT like Barbies but really likes LEGOS. Is she our girl or
what??? So we piled all sorts of goods on top of Sarah and with
taskmaster Yisha found everything on our list. It was something
we could not of done without her.
Tomorrow the other families from our group have a chance to go
visit the orphanages. We wanted to but AnYang is the farthest
away and we need to be here to take her to the hospital for her
thumb. The bandages seem to be getting smaller so I hope that is
a good sign.
AnYang SWI did a tremendous job preparing her for us. We
received two huge photo albums filled with pictures from her
past. We are eternally grateful for all the love that they
clearly showered on this sweet girl. I feel like all the prayers
I prayed for her to be safe and loved were answered.
Tomorrow is a free day. I believe we will venture out to the
Wal-Mart which is about 3 blocks away.
Give Ryan lots of hugs and kisses!
With love from China,
Leanne, Mike, Cody and Sarah |

This is the most delicious dragon fruit.
