About JacJac
Back

In September we decided to send a care package to our precious JacJac.

We chose BlessedKids.com to send the package because of their extensive experience with Chinese orphanages.  Shopping on their website was so much fun, but we almost bought out the place!

Finally, we decided to send her:

- A stuffed Panda bear

- A photo album with pictures of her family, Mommy, Daddy, big sister and brother, Mimi and Granddad   (Each picture is labeled in English and Chinese. Our hope is that JacJac’s caregivers will look at the photo album with her and tell her who is in each picture)

- A pink blanket

- Peanuts, honey dates and chocolates for JacJac’s caregivers

- A pillow with a photo of our family printed on it (the same picture that is on the “Contact Us” page)

- A disposable camera (We hope to get wonderful pictures of JacJac at the orphanage in these months before we come for her)

We also had a letter translated which said:

Dear Director and Nannies,

We are eagerly looking forward to adopting Shan Wei Xiao Li. Her birth date is June 1, 2004. We feel honored that we will be parents of this wonderful little girl soon. Thank you for all the love and care you have given her. By the way, if our child is in foster care, please pass the package to the foster family.  We will greatly appreciate it.

We hope you and Shan Wei Xiao Li enjoy these photographs of our family. Please share these photos with her whenever possible.

We are enclosing a disposable camera in this package, hoping you might be able to take some photographs of Shan Wei Xiao Li at the orphanage and anything that you feel may be important to us or her in the future. We will keep these pictures to share with her when she is older. They will mean so much to us.  She will definitely cherish them in the future. We will get the pictures developed while we are there and send you copies, if you would like.

Please accept the enclosed candy and chocolate for the orphanage caretakers and children. We deeply appreciate the time and effort you and your staff devote to helping these precious children have a good place to live and grow.

We have enclosed the following items:

1) A camera, 2) a panda bear and blanket for Shan Wei Xiao Li, 3) Chocolate candy, honey dates and yupi peanuts. 4) A pillow with our picture on it.

Please use all the exposures in the camera to take pictures of Shan Wei Xiao Li and the orphanage. Please give the teddy bear and blanket to Shan Wei Xiao Li so when we come to adopt her, she has something familiar to play with.  Bring the camera, teddy bear, blanket, and pillow at adoption time.

Thank you for all you have done for Shan Wei Xiao Li. We will forever be grateful. We look forward to traveling to China to bring Shan Wei Xiao Li home as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Kevin and Janie Crouch

We were delighted to send these items to our daughter, although we know there is no guarantee they actually got to her.  About 10 days after sending the package we did receive confirmation from Blessed Kids that the package had been received by the orphanage (calling the orphanage to confirm package receipt is one of Blessed Kid’s services).

So we hope that JacJac received all these items, but if not, it makes us smile to think that some child in China is sleeping on a pillow with our picture on it!
