It is Wednesday afternoon here and we are in our office, or the
conference room, or to most people the bathroom. But when Eliana
is sleeping we don’t want to wake her. I can’t tell how soundly
of a sleeper she is, so here I sit or we sit, depending on who
needs to leave the room for fortifications (food) during
naptime. She goes down relatively easy. She never wants to miss
anything, so she cries for a moment, while I sit with her and
rub her belly until she falls asleep. She is taking to both of
us. She took a bottle from Tom. She would rather let me hold
her, but that will change as Tom spends more time with her and
she figures out that he is far more fun than I am.
Breakfast this morning was a bit of challenge. Eliana was being
very squirmy. Trying to feed her at times is more like a
wrestling match than breakfast.
After breakfast, we headed out with the rest of the travel group
for some sightseeing in Changsha. We started with a trip to
Hunan University which is one of the oldest and most important
national universities in China. The University traces its
history back to over 1000 years to the Song Dynasty. While at
the University, we were able to listen to traditional Chinese
music. After touring the university, we visited the embroidery
institute. There were many masterpiece embroidery pieces. You
could barely tell that they were embroidery, they looked like
paintings. A life-size replica of a portrait of a princess from
the Metropolitan Museum of art took 27 months to reproduce in
embroidery.
Uncle Zhou is very conscientious about bringing the babies home
for bottles and naps. While I got Eliana down for her nap, Tom
headed down to the Western Restaurant in the hotel for a
cheeseburger, club sandwich, and French fries. |

We think she is absolutely precious!

She is not amused by our picture taking

Have you ever seen a little one suck their pinkie and ring
fingers?

You should seriously see when I use the tub as a lounge chair,
equipped with towel cushions
