Ni Hao!
We made it to China last night and are now in the hotel. It is
currently 8:30 pm Sunday, March 1st. The flight went well with
Hope finding a friend to play with for the first half of the
flight. They sat on the floor and colored, played go fish and
looked out the windows often to check for Polar Bears. As we
were in the air, the whole flight had daylight. This made it
difficult to sleep and knowing the time. The 20 hour flight was
long but having movies on our seats helped as well as a portable
DVD player. The last half of our flight was pretty smooth with
Hope sleeping soundly. This morning our day started with going
to the breakfast buffet. It was a wonderful assortment of food.
After breakfast Steve had a massage and I went to a salon to
have my hair styled. After a little shopping, we came back to
the room for a nice long nap until dinner. Being so tired we
didn’t wake up until our guide knocked on the door for our
dinner time. We went to a Chinese restaurant downstairs. Had a
little trouble ordering but our guide helped us out. They were
so nice to make a special order of french fries and chicken
nuggets for Hope. She said they tasted really good.
We are getting a lot of looks from people since we are probably
the only family from the U.S. in the hotel. The rooms have a
view of the lake that is very beautiful but foggy today. It has
rained here every day for the past month.
As of now, we have learned that Micah did not go to the
orphanage but will come straight to us from his foster family.
This saves him from added stress. We are very excited to see En
Wei tomorrow. We look forward to our next entry with Micah
photos.
God bless. –Steve, Kim and Hope |
