As a girl I had a common dream to be a
mom someday. My baby would have eyes of blue and hair the hue of
hay. But now my dreams have been transformed. New visions fill
my head. Now the tresses that I stroke are raven black instead.
And in my dreams those eyes are not so big or blue or round. Now
in my dreams they're almond shaped and colored cocoa brown. And
in my dreams my arms can stretch across enormous seas. They
reach half-way around the world and hold you close to me. As you
grow in your mother's womb, carefully knit together, you're also
growing in my heart, where you will stay forever. And in my
dreams the moment that your mother says goodbye, I'll be right
there to comfort you and hold you as you cry. Our features may
not look alike; we're different as can be. But still I know the
Father has created you for me! And though I've not yet seen your
face, or held your tiny hands, and though we're half a world
apart in very different lands, I'll be right there to get you
just as soon as God allows. But 'til He says the time is right I
give to you this vow. I'll pray for your protection everyday on
bended knee. For God to hold you in His arms until you're here
with me.

At 7 AM we took the van to the U.S. consulate for the adoption
oath. We were the only family taking the adoption oath this
morning. The U.S. Consulate told me I was able to leave and we
must return tomorrow afternoon to pick up the visa and the brown
envelope for U.S. immigration. So I started down the 5 flights
of escalators and when I came out the building there was the
same lady that assisted me at the US Consulate she had my US
passport and forgot to give it back to me. I thought it was
funny my US passport gets misplaced at the US consulate. We
returned to the hotel at 10 am.
Lunch was a repeat of yesterday Lucy's Cheeseburger, French
fries and Coke Zero. After lunch we went to the children's
playground and did some shopping.
We met our guide early afternoon for shopping at the electronic
market and the pearl market. At this point in time I need a sea
container to get all the stuff home !
Tomorrow is our last day at the White Swan Hotel. Friday morning
we leave for the USA.
We miss you.
Love ya,
Elliott and Mama
