Hello to all of our wonderful friends and family! We are here!!
Finally! We had 2 great flights from Continental Airlines. But
let me start from the beginning. We arrived in Georgia on
Wednesday in the torrential rain. We sold our car to the
Volkswagon service guy and then went down the street to test
drive our new Minivan at the largest dealership that we have
ever been in. It was like a mall of Toyota vehicles! Our new
Super White (yes, white, what else is there, LOL) Sienna was
sitting under the awning of the dealership waiting on us. But
long story short, it was not ready for us to take home so we had
to leave it. They said that they would deliver it to my Mom and
Dad's house on Friday or Saturday. Mike and I both took a step
back and felt so unworthy of God's goodness to us as we arrived
to see our new minivan for the first time. It was prettier than
we ever imagined. We are so thankful to God for watching over us
and working everything out, down to the very last detail.
We left Mom and Dad's house early on Thursday morning to catch
our 8:15am flight out of Atlanta. We were thankful to get a
practice run as my uncle Howard "flew" us to the airport via
car. Gwendolyn said that it was the most adventurous ride that
she had ever had. LOL.
We arrived at the Atlanta airport with plenty of time to spare.
We boarded a very tiny airplane bound for NJ. Gwendolyn was a
little bit nervous on the takeoff, but once she realized that
there was nothing to it, she was fine. She is now a flying pro
and loves it! Our one and only flight attendant on this very
small plane had a great name....Anthony!!! Coincidence?...I
think not. The flight was smooth with no problems and it took
off and landed on time. Gwendolyn and I had a really hard time
with the landing as our ears were hurting pretty bad as we came
down. But, my man, Anthony was excellent and took great care of
us. Our ears were back to normal by the time we got off the
plane. As we landed, we did get to see the silouette of the
Statue of Liberty!! It was cool anyway!
Our flight from NJ to Beijing was very long but it was a great
flight! It was quite interesting using the potty at 35,000 feet
in the air going 600mph. LOL. We arrived in Beijing at 1:30pm
and met a really sweet Chinese-American couple from Boston who
was in the foreigners' line with us. We are now in the hotel in
Beijing and we are exhausted! I will try to type more tomorrow,
but we do have a full day of sight-seeing in Beijing.
Bye for now! Love to all! Sorry that the pictures are not that
exciting, but the really exciting part is yet to come! Woo hoo!! |

Leaving to go to Atlanta
airport.
