MYLEE DAY!
Well the day has finally arrived, Mylee Day!! We woke up
around 5am again, not able to sleep a moment longer. We were
surprised that we were able to sleep at all. We got ready for
the day and headed downstairs for breakfast. We had breakfast
with several of the Heartsent families, the DeBolts, the
Buckleys and the Kawadas. We have a great group that we are
traveling with and I’m sure the friendships that are forming
will last for many years to come.
After breakfast, we paired up with the DeBolts and walked down
the street to the Bank of China to exchange some US Dollars to
Chinese Yuan. We then spent the next few hours walking around
Shamian Island. There’s a beautiful park at the end of the
street that had large groups of people playing hackysack,
exercising doing Tai Chi and even some ballroom dancing. We
then stopped into a few of the shops here and all of the shop
owners are very friendly. Believe it or not, I did not buy one
thing! I am waiting to have my precious baby girl with me and
then let the shopping begin.
It is currently 1pm and we are to meet the group at 3:30 to
head over the Chinese government Civil Affairs office where we
will be united with our daughter around 4pm. Needless to say,
time is standing still and all morning has crept by at a
snails pace. I cannot describe our feelings as the moment is
approaching that we will finally hold our daughter in our
arms. We have prayed for her for so long and our love for her
is unending. I will write again after we have been united.
It is now 11:51 pm so this will have to be short. We received
Mylee around 4:20 today. She is absolutely beautiful. She is
much smaller than her pictures made her out to be but she does
have those chubby cheeks and dimples! She has a cold and some
chest congestion and it looks like she may be getting an eye
infection so we’ll be working on getting her nice and healthy
for the long trip home. She didn’t cry at all and absolutely
LOVES her daddy! And yes, she does still look just like him
:0) We finally got her down to bed and we have to be up early,
so here are some of the pictures and we’ll update just as soon
as we can tomorrow with more.
We love you all and thank you for your warm wishes in our
guestbook and for continuing to follow our journey.
