We have now been on this journey for more than one week and we have one week until we go home. It has been an amazing experience. Really I just can’t put into words the joy we are feeling. Tia is so precious and such a perfect match for our family. The tears well up in our eyes when we think about where she was just a few days ago and now she is with us. We praise God that He chose Tia to be in our family. I believe that you feel God’s presence in a powerful way when you step into the unknown and trust in Him. God has provided for us in a mighty way.

Today we toured an embroidery factory in Changsha. This factory is one of four in all of China. The embroidery is done with silk from silk worms. This is an amazing art. Some of the pictures are so detailed that they look like photographs. Many of the pieces of art have twelve layers of threads. The Chinese are patient and detailed people. They gave us much more information, but I didn’t hear most of it because I was entertaining our new little firecracker.

Today was a very special day for two of the families in our group. Gigi and Rory both celebrated their 1st birthdays today! We had a nice little party with them in the playroom at the hotel and we even had two cakes. Both Gigi and Rory were living in the same orphanage as Tia. Congratulations to their families as they are able to be with these precious girls for their 1st birthdays!

We had the opportunity to go bowling today and even played more table tennis. Tia seems very content when we do these types of activities. She walks around and interacts with all of us. I hope this continues because it will be fun to have her join in with our family activities when we get home.

Tomorrow we will be packing up to fly to Guangzhou. Our flight is in the evening. I’m not sure when I will be able to post. It might be the next day depending on how things go. We need to check out of our hotel by 4:30 and I think our flight is at 8PM. Please pray that Tia enjoys the plane ride.
