IT'S OFFICIAL!!
Chen Chensi is now Tia Kate Chensi Hollinger. Our entire group boarded the
bus again this morning to go back to the civil affairs office.
We are required to meet with the adoption officials and complete
more paperwork. Tia had to participate by stamping her foot in
red ink on the form. She didn’t appreciate that too much. We are
now waiting for Tia’s passport to be processed.
Tia has been doing great! She slept all night our first night
together. She’s been eating well and showing us bits of her
personality. We expect to see more a more as she becomes more
comfortable with us.
After our long meeting this morning we went to the Changsha City
Walmart. That is a unique experience that you would only
understand if you experience it yourself. Even though it is a
Walmart, it is 100% Chinese. The things they sell are very
different than Walmart in the States. Shawn and I talked to a
lady from the US that lives in Changsha . She said that she
almost never sees westerners so she wanted to find out where we
were from.
As we were driving back to our hotel we took a picture of the
local dentist office. Check it out! I’m hoping that I don’t have
any emergency dental work in the next few days.
We have a free day tomorrow. We’ll have to see what adventures
are waiting for us!
We miss you all. Email is very slow so we haven’t been sending
email except for the website updates.
