TIANANMEN
SQUARE, FORBIDDEN CITY and ACROBAT SHOW
After a shorts night’s sleep (gotta love jet lag) we were
off to tour some more historical sites of Beijing.
Standing in Tiananmen Square was surreal. Many Chinese do
not know much of the history which took place there 17
years ago. We walked the length of the square, the largest
public square in the world. From there, we toured the
length of the Forbidden City, which was built in the early
1400’s as the center of government and a residence for the
imperial family. Many of the buildings are being renovated
to look their best by the Olympics in 2008. Later in the
afternoon, we took in an incredible acrobat show.
Now we are packing up for our flight tomorrow morning to
Jiangsu, Kristen’s province. We can hardly believe that
we’re so close to finally holding our baby girl in our
arms!
Thanks so much for your encouraging comments in our
guestbook! We love hearing from you over here on the other
side of the world.
More from Nanjing tomorrow!
Blessings,
